For all devoted runners and marathon enthusiasts out there, we have news for you! The date and the route for the 5th edition of the Stara Zagora Marathon are already announced: March 29 2020
Three distances (by choice) will be available to the participants of the 5th edition of the marathon – the classic distance of 42.195 km, the half-marathon distance of 21 km and a short distance of 10.5 km. Thus all marathon enthusiasts, regardless of their running capacity, will be able to join the race. Each participant will receive a T-Shirt, and the successful finishers of the three distances of 42 km, 21 km and 10.5 km will receive a medal for their participation, as well a commemorative token.
“Running is a way of life” is the motto of the chain of marathons in Bulgaria – in Stara Zagora, Varna and Sofia, and the start in the “Linden Tree City” will be given in front of the Municipality of Stara Zagora, 107 “Tsar Simeon Veliki” Blvd., 10.00 am sharp on March 29 2020.
The route goes on towards “Tsar Simeon Veliki” Blvd., and then on to “Nikola Petkov” Blvd. Near the Metro Store the runners will make a U-turn and following the same route will go back to the Municipality of Stara Zagora. The distance of one round is 10.550 km.
The runners in the classic marathons will make 4 rounds, the half-marathon runners – 2 rounds and those in the 10.550 km distance – 1 round.
