"Green Zone" – temporary parking spaces
The Green Zone is enforced between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm during the week and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday. Parking on Sunday is free of charge.
You can pay for on-street parking using parking meters or by sending a SMS (text message) to tel.: 1342 indicating the registration plate of the vehicle written in Cyrillic (for ex. СТ 1234 СА). One text massage equals one hour parking and costs 1 BGN. Before the time is up, you will receive a reminder notification on your cell phone.
The duration of the parking can be between 30 minutes (with a parking coupon)/1 hour via SMS, and a maximum of three hours.
The Green Zone regulations are enforced strictly and violations of these regulations attract penalties, which means that any vehicle parked illegally may be towed or its wheels may be blocked. The towing fee is 30 BGN and the blocking fee is 20 BGN. You may call 0800 157 37 in such cases.
