A creative space for art. psychology and sharing ideas
Come visit the art spaces, suites, couloirs and courtyards of the House of the Architect, Stara Zagora's favorite informal place for alternative (counter) culture.
This is the home of the renowned architect Hristo Dimov (1890-1983) and it is one of the few remaining architectural monuments in the city distinguished by its Art Nouveau style.
As its hosts, the organization for contemporary art and culture "A different look" has been organizing different art, culture, science, kids and youth events since 2012. The local community, as well as the city's visitors, has embraced warmly the location during this time and they see it as a creative social milieu for ideas, a scene for talented young people and a place for sharing different causes.
The organization has initiated an annual youth festival for eight consecutive years. "A different look" Festival is a youth platform for dance, music, theater and circus arts, cinema, graffiti, exhibitions, applied art ateliers, craft workshops, ecology, sport and more.
During two consecutive years the organization has been responsible for the maintenance and programming of the only remaining independent cinema hall (the former "Komsomol"), which was renamed "The different Komsomol." It has managed to draw the local community and to present selections of global film festival participants as well as independent reels.
The organization works on several projects related to volunteering, information and consulting services, trainings geared to a youth audience. A large part of these activities take place at the House of the Architect.
You can visit the House and feel the modern artistic spirit of the city nestled into the backyard of the House instead of the exposed institutional facades of the local publicity.
