A group of archeologists discovered a private home during excavations in the center of the city. The home did not appear to be exceptional at first sight.
As the work progressed they discovered parts of an incredibly beautiful mosaic. It turned out that they had discovered an amazing 'canvas' dating back to 4th century A.D.
The mosaic represented the entire model of the cosmogony: the world of water and its creatures; the land with its flora and fauna; the sky with the 'Origin of life' scene.
There is a hint about heaven where the souls of the faithful departed are depicted as a duck and a deer. It is considered that the composition was borrowed from the Ancient Jewish symbolism and this scene is one of its earliest memorials.
