Geo Milev is one of the most important names in the history of Bulgarian literature. He was a poet, a critic, a translator, a painter, a rebel and a founder of an entirely new poetry movement. He is a vivid example of a man who has devoted his life to art and to the fight for freedom of the human spirit.
The Museum tells the life story of Geo Milev via a permanent collection, which reveals details about the childhood and adolescence of the poet as well as his coming of age and his mature artistic journey. In addition to the exposition of photographs, documents and artifacts from the poet's life, the Museum boasts an audio-visual part of the house, which makes it one of the most modern museums of its kind in Bulgaria.
The exposition is innovative and well curated, and it presents some of Geo Milev's first artistic achievements, his glass eye, his breath-taking portraits and an overall atmosphere that reveals in depth the personality of one of the most interesting and lively characters in the history of Bulgarian literature.
The Museum hosts a multitude of cultural events during the year as well as various theatrical performances.
