The story of the 'Holy Trinity' church is heart wrenching. The Temple was located in one of the poorest neighborhoods during the Turkish yoke. The neighborhood's residents had to attend other churches if they wanted to observe the Christian traditions. After some time, the residents reached the conclusion that they wanted to build their own temple at any cost. This was the birth of the 'Holy Trinity' Temple.
The battles during the Russo-Turkish War, which were waged in Stara Zagora, left the city ravaged. The inhabitants of Stara Zagora mustered the courage and the strength to rebuild the vanquished city after these tragic events. The 'Holy Trinity' Temple was burnt to the ground during the battles and it rose from the ashes.
