The working schedule is flexible and changes depending on the extracurricular activities as well as on astronomical observations. It is mandatory to call or email the Observatory to specify the goal and time of the visit you want to schedule.

Yuri Gagarin, the first cosmonaut on the planet visited Stara Zagora on May 26, 1961. He gladly agreed to the have the Observatory being named after him.
Professionals, amateur astronomers and citizens hungry for knowledge united their efforts in order to build the Observatory. For decades now it allows several generations to gaze at the skies.
The Observatory has a rich library and well-equipped contemporary telescopes. The star-lovers can join a multitude of classes and they can learn fascinating stories about the sky.
